Where do you deliver?Products can only be shipped to an address within Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. We do not ship internationally nor do inter-provincial shipping.If you are ordering anywhere in NL, be reminded that orders can only be delivered to eligible civic addresses and cannot be shipped to a PO Box.

How much does it cost for home delivery?The cost of shipping is $9.00 + HST, regardless of order size. We ship orders via Canada Post.

What happens if I'm not home to receive my shipment?No packages will be left in community mailboxes, residential mailboxes, or on doorsteps. If you are not home during delivery, a notice card will be left for you to visit the nearest post office for pick-up. Canada Post will hold the package for two (2) weeks and will be returned to NLC’s Distribution Centre if not collected after this time. A refund will be issued when the package is returned to us.

What identification is required for online purchases?For online purchases, a valid photo I.D. must be presented upon home delivery. Packages must be signed for by a resident of legal age and will not be left in community mailboxes, residential mailboxes, or on doorsteps. Cannabis NL accepts Canadian Passport, Canadian Citizenship card, Canadian Armed Forces ID, or Driver’s License as valid forms of identification.

Do I need to create an account to place an online order?No, you may order and check out as a guest. However, creating an account allows you to view order status and store delivery and payment information making your online shopping experience more efficient.

How will I know when my order is confirmed?You will receive an electronic order confirmation to the email address you provided when you complete the checkout process. You will also be notified via email when your order has shipped.

Can I modify the details of my order?No. Once an order is placed, the details of that order are final and cannot be altered, including the shipping address and items purchased. If there is another item that you would like to purchase, you will need to create a new order.

What are you doing to ensure product quality/safety?We regulate and enforce product packaging and safety guidelines in all Licensed Cannabis Retailers and online as identified in the Federal Government regulatory framework.

Can I recycle cannabis packaging?In the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, plastic cannabis containers can be placed in see-through blue bags along with other recyclable containers with curbside recycling, once the cap liner is removed. Cannabis pouches are made out of mixed materials and as such cannot be recycled so they should be placed in the garbage. All-in-one vapes and vape batteries should not be thrown in household garbage and should be disposed of properly for recycling. What is the legal age to buy and use cannabis?In Newfoundland and Labrador, you must be 19 years of age to consume, purchase, and possess cannabis.

How much cannabis can I purchase in a single transaction?Individuals are allowed to purchase up to 30 grams of cannabis flower or equivalent in other formats in one transaction. A maximum of 4 plants are permitted to be purchased at one time.

How much can individuals possess?The Cannabis Act (Canada) and the Cannabis Control Act (NL) specifies that it is an offence for a person of legal age to possess more than 30 grams of dried cannabis (or equivalent) in a public place. Both acts also specify that a maximum of 4 cannabis plants can be grown per dwelling house with no limit on how much cannabis can be obtained from the plants. Different cannabis plants will naturally produce different amounts of flower. A person can have an unlimited amount of legal cannabis in their home.

Can individuals grow their own cannabis?Those aged 19 years and older will be permitted to grow up to four (4) plants per household.

Can I grow cannabis to sell?No. Only federally licensed producers are permitted to grow cannabis to sell. You are not allowed to make edibles to sell.

Where can I consume cannabis?You may consume cannabis in a private dwelling or yard attached to a private dwelling.You may be able to consume cannabis in hotel rooms or units in apartment buildings, subject to restrictions that may be imposed by the building owner or operator. Cannabis may not be consumed in any of the common areas of those buildings.You may be able to consume cannabis on a rented campsite, subject to restrictions that may be imposed by the park owner or operator. You may be able to consume cannabis in a vehicle that is being used as a temporary or private residence while it is not on a road.You are not permitted to consume cannabis in a public place, a motor vehicle or a boat, similar to the restrictions on consuming alcohol. A limited exception applies for medical cannabis. A person with a valid authorization to use medical cannabis under the federal Cannabis Act may consume medical cannabis in an outdoor public place where smoking or vaping is permitted by the Smoke-Free Environment Act, 2005, but would not be able to consume cannabis in a motor vehicle.

Are there special rules related to transporting cannabis?A person will be allowed to only transport 30 grams of cannabis at a time. While in a vehicle, the cannabis will have to be in a container with an unbroken seal or stored such that it is inaccessible to the driver or a passenger.

What are the rules about consuming cannabis and driving?Driving while impaired is dangerous and is a criminal offense. Drivers found to be impaired while driving will face driver's license suspensions, fines, vehicle impoundment and/or time in jail.

What are the penalties for sharing cannabis with minors?The Cannabis Act created two new criminal offenses, with a maximum penalty of 14 years in jail for giving or selling cannabis to minors or using a minor to commit a cannabis-related offense.

Can passengers in my car smoke cannabis while I’m driving?No, according to the Cannabis Control Act, a person shall not consume cannabis in a vehicle. In addition, cannabis must be kept in its sealed packaging while being transported in a car. If it is not in its original sealed container, it must not be accessible to anyone in the vehicle (i.e. stored in the trunk).

Are you allowed to smoke cannabis in a parked car?No, it is illegal to consume cannabis in a vehicle regardless of whether it is parked or not. The Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code consider whether someone has care or control of a vehicle – if you have care or control of a vehicle, it is possible that you could be charged with impaired driving even though the car is parked. As well, according to the Cannabis Control Act, consuming cannabis in a vehicle is not permitted and cannabis must be kept in its sealed packaging, and not be accessible to anyone inside the vehicle. A limited exception applies to a vehicle being used as a dwelling, such as a motor home while being used for that purpose, while not in motion or on a highway.

What can happen if I buy or sell cannabis outside of the licensed system?Buying or selling cannabis outside of the licensed system is illegal. Severe fines and criminal penalties apply. Depending on the seriousness of the offense, you could:Receive a ticket,Be fined up to $100,000, orFace up to 14 years in jail.

What is NLC’s role?The sale of cannabis is being conducted through private retailers licensed by the Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation (NLC), which has the experience, resources, and infrastructure to be regulator and distributor. NLC controls the possession, sale, and delivery of cannabis, and sets prices for cannabis products.
